Five Months

Harper is now five months old (a couple of weeks ago) and is showing more and more personality these days. She has discovered a high-pitched squeal at an ear piercing decibel! She has also recently cut her first tooth on the bottom so, of course, she is chewing on her fingers and anything else she can get her hands on! Here are lots of pictures captured in the last month since Christmas...

"Hello, Mom and Dad!"

We have to keep that bald head covered on cold days!

Ready for spring

Now that Harper is rolling over, she sometimes sleeps on her stomach. Here is a picture of her first nap on her stomach.

I also find Harper like this at times, poor girl. A mention in our childbirth classes of how bumper pads are potentially unsafe made a lasting impression on concerned father Brent. I therefore eventually lost the bumper pad battle. I took a photograph of her in this unfortunate pose to show Brent the flip side dangers of crib slats. :)

Harper's new skill of semi-sitting up if she has her hands there for support

A sweet smile...

...and a mischievous little grin

Many moons ago, my very talented mother crocheted several adorable sweaters, which my brother and I both wore as babies. They now fit Harper, and I just love that she is getting to wear them! We took a little photo shoot of Harper in the red one. Check out all that drool too!

I love how Harper will stare at our faces and put her little hands on our cheeks...I still have to take care to keep my hair out of her grasp though...ouch! :)

Sticking out her tongue is a new fun trick these days as well as blowing bubbles!

Since cutting her first tooth, Harper has adopted this interesting expression, which we affectionately call her "old man lips" expression. I guess it makes her gums feel better.

Finally, on a completely random note, I have to put in a plug for my latest love...putting things on hold at our local library! If you have a library card, all you have to do is get on the library website and put whatever you want on hold. Right now I am slowly plowing through all the seasons of Gilmore Girls, and also Alias.

The library sends you an e-mail when the items are waiting for you, and there is even a drive through at the back of the library! So I simply drive up, hand them my card through the window, and they give me my holds. I don't even have to get the stroller out! Plus they don't have late fees at our library...greatness.

The latest out-of-control bow...love it!

Priceless moments with Daddy
