Easter, Mother's Day and More!
Get ready for a long post of pictures as there has been much to document in the last month or so! Many holidays and fun birthdays in recent weeks and also exciting times ahead...it looks like the three of us will be taking an international trip this summer! We are going to visit my brother in South Korea! He has been living there for several years, and we have never seen his life there or met his girlfriend or cat, etc. And besides, who doesn't enjoy taking an almost 2-year-old on a trans-Pacific flight--fun times ahead! :) We'll be sure to blog about this upcoming family adventure, of course!
On Easter Sunday, we got together with Mimi and T-Pa for church and a delicious meal afterwards.

Cousin Addy turned two in May...I love her pure joy in this picture.
Addy loved her homemade and masterfully created "pig" cake. I wish I had taken a picture of it...Jenevieve did an amazing job on it!

Cousin Holton (who is three months old now) was wiped out by all the partying and took a nap on Mimi's chest.
I was happy that he woke up, though, and gave his Aunt Erika lots of smiles!

Beth and Jarod were so sweet to host the family for a gourmet brunch on Mother's Day. Here we are enjoying the food in the backyard.

After some Maverick's viewing, we went to my mom's house and ate out for a Mother's Day dinner. It was a great day.
This past month, Brent and I also celebrated nine years of marriage. I am so blessed to be married to my best friend who I truly enjoy spending life with.
We sure are missing sweet Marin, but all is going well with baby Parker! I just wanted to post this picture from April when Harper and Marin were riveted by storytime at the library.
In April we also had a fun time house/dog sitting for Brian and Jenevieve as they traveled for Jenevieve's conference in D.C. Harper loves the puppies (she calls them "white puppy" and "black puppy"), and it was fun to change up the routine and be away from home for a bit.
Lucy (or "black puppy") never tired of playing catch. She was managing two balls here...one already in her mouth and waiting in tense anticipation for the second ball to drop.

We also saw Arcade Fire in late April...it was an awesome concert, and we were just two people back in the pit.
We went to the Rangers game with Brian, Jenevieve and Holton. I love going to an evening game before the weather is too warm, and we had lots of fun.

...but didn't love this one as much. He was unfortunately seated right behind us and actually ended up getting kicked out of the game!
My mom went on a mission trip with some high school students to Peru. She brought back this hat for Harper. As you might recall, Harper has a thing for winter hats. This one proved to be a winner as well, and she loves to wear it. No matter that it is May!

My mom also brought Harper this white llama rug from Peru. She loves to get down and snuggle on its luxurious softness.

For Aunt Beth's birthday, we went to Joe T. Garcia's and Harper and T-Pa did some coloring.

And the other thing we have been up to is swimming lessons! We are taking them on Saturdays in May and June in the instructer's outdoor heated pool. Harper has been good for the most part, except she hates being on her back! Brent and I are taking turns who is in the pool with her each Saturday.

For Mother's Day this year, Brent and Harper put their heads together and created a precious collage with Harper's handprint on it. I was unsuspecting when Brent repeatedly urged me to take some "me" time and run an errand earlier in the week. It didn't take too much urging to convince me to go to Target, and as soon as I walked out the door, Brent said he and Harper rushed into crafty action! Brent got a little stressed when some of the red paint got on Harper's pajamas, but he washed it out for the most part, and I was none the wiser when I returned. What a sweet pair!

And finally, here is Harper interacting with her favorite DVD. She gets so excited to act out the motions with the song! In the beginning she is so excited, she just shouts out her name a couple of times. :)
