Our little guy is now 2 1/2 months old! He is full of cuteness and smiles so I can't stop snapping photos. I am relishing how easy it is to photograph a little baby that stays in one place. Wow, you really appreciate that once you have attempted to capture a toddler's photo for a couple of years!

| Sometimes I am overcome with Owen's sweetness. When he looks right at me and then smiles, there is no better feeling. Owen cries more intensely than Harper ever did, which disconcerted me at first. But we are getting to know him more and more, and it has gotten easier to keep him happy and content. And when he does get all worked up, it doesn't stress me out as much because I know him and know this is just how he does it. Owen is still a very good sleeper and loves bath time and being swaddled. |

Getting so long! His two month stats were: 12 lbs. 8 oz. (75%), 23 3/4 in. (75%) and still 80% for head circumference. It is crazy that Harper was even longer than Owen at this exact age. But then again, Harper has always been, and continues to be, in the 95th percentile for height!
Owen is doing really well, except he has a blocked tear duct in one eye (Harper had this as well), and we are having to watch his head shape because one side is a little flatter than the other. I have a healthy fear of the helmet, so we are doing our best to correct this. Eeek! |

A couple of weeks ago we had baby dedication Sunday at our church. The church prayed over the babies and over us, as parents. They also mentioned the significance of each baby's name. I'm not sure I ever talked about how Owen's name came about. I had a grandma (Gran) that I was very close to growing up and in college--she lived in Abilene. Her maiden name was Owens, so that is what led us to Owen's first name. And Brent's dad's name is James, so we chose that for Owen's middle name to honor him.

Harper and Owen will soon have another cousin...Molly Anne! Beth had a baby shower for Molly and Kathy sewed this quilt for her as a special surprise gift. It turned out beautifully!

Hot Springs
For eleven straight years, Brent and I have gone to Hot Springs to enjoy a documentary film festival that takes place every October, as well as the fall weather and colors. Normally it is a time for Brent and me to get away by ourselves, but we took Harper with us the year she was two months old since she was too little to be apart from us. This year it was Owen's turn to be inaugurated, and he got his own two-month-old trip to Hot Springs.
Owen did really well overall! It took us seven hours to get there with nursing stops and a Mexican restaurant lunch break, but we were in no rush. On Friday night, we even took Owen with us to a documentary, and he was kind enough to sleep through the whole thing since we went to a 9:30 showing.
Don't worry about Harper missing out--she was having her own grand time. She spent the long weekend with Nana and got to go to a high school football game and saw her first circus, complete with blue cotton candy! :)

| In addition to hitting our favorite spots every year, we try to check out a few new places too. This year we went to the Garvan Woodland Gardens and strolled around for about three hours. |

| Brent and I both agreed that we felt even closer to Owen after our weekend, just the three of us. So nice for Owen to get to have an only child experience for a few days and great memories for us as well with our baby boy. |
